Yes, if I wait until I’ve got it all figured out I will either never do it, or produce something stilted. (Something stilted this way comes. An editor’s horror movie, maybe.)
I think about music and moods also. Overall, I am in awe of the power of music.

That’s an interesting thing to say. I love writing and music equally., but I wonder if they activate the same part of the brain.

That’s a good way to put it. I don’t know whether it is possible, either. There is also the issue of timespan. Perhaps a shorter piece of writing would stand a better chance.

My comment seems a bit blunt now that I am reading it again. I should clarify and say that I’ve observed for some time how different types of music can affect my mood in different ways, so I’ve thought about it at length. Usually while driving.
I think you should try to accomplish exactly what you said. Even if it doesn’t end up working out exactly that way, you’ll probably end up with an interesting and unusual piece of writing.
